Arts and Sciences | PsychologyThe MINDSET lab is directed by Dr. Jasmeet Hayes. The MINDSET lab studies relationships among physical and psychological trauma, cognition, and the brain [using Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) metrics]. We also examine neural correlates of memory in healthy and clinical populations. The Research Technician assists in the general coordination and conduct of research in the MINDSET lab, including administration of neuropsychological tests and/or questionnaires to young and older adults; recruits, screens, and schedules human subjects, including coordination of subject appointments (cognitive, MRI, and physical fitness assessments), subject payments, and submission of institutional review board (IRB) amendments; assists with participant recruitment efforts between the laboratory and community partners; assists with research lab purchases and maintains lab supplies; assists with cognitive, MRI, and medical history data collection, including obtaining informed consent, cognitive testing (computer and paper and pencil based testing), MRI data acquisition, and record keeping; assists with cognitive and MRI data processing and analyses, including analyses of behavioral data and MRI data using openly available software like FSL, AFNI, or SPM and/or UNIX or MATLABoversees undergraduate research assistants.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field or equivalent experience.
Required Qualifications
Relevant experience as demonstrated by one of the following: No prior experience required with a Bachelor’s degree. Two (2) years of relevant experience with an Associate’s degree. Four (4) years of relevant experience with a High School diploma
Programming experience in either UNIX or MATLAB, as well as experience in neuroimaging data analyses; knowledge of software packages, such as FreeSurfer, FSL, AFNI, or SPM.
Additional Information:
The pay range for this job profile is $19.28 - $25.19. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, the unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
