Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Dallas, TX 75231Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: High School/GEDJob Category: Health CareThe Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for greeting and assisting patients and visitors, managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a smooth flow of front‑office operations. This role supports patient satisfaction, provider efficiency, and accurate documentation by maintaining patient records, processing payments, and coordinating communication between patients and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Interaction
Greet patients/visitors in person and by phone.
Answer questions, ease anxieties, and maintain the reception area.
Provide intake forms, office policies, and required documents.
Information & Records Management
Enter and scan patient demographics and medical records into the EMR.
Upload imaging files (X-ray, CT, MRI) into MergePac.
Document all items in the electronic health record promptly.
Scheduling & Coordination
Schedule appointments efficiently to optimize provider time and room use.
Communicate with Patient Accounting to resolve concerns in real time.
Payments & Coding
Process co-pays and uninsured visit payments.
Review medical procedures and translate them into billing codes.
Enter charges into the EMR system.
Compliance & Training
Attend required training and complete annual online education.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
QualificationsQualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: At least 2 years in a medical office; regular face‑to‑face physician interaction preferred.
Required Skills & Knowledge
Strong phone and communication skills.
Familiarity with office equipment, practice management systems, EMRs, and Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of insurance rules, pre-authorizations, and clinic operations.
Ability to locate information online and process requests quickly.
Ability to interpret payer policies, multitask, and work professionally with patients and team members.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Fast-paced office setting with frequent changes.
Regular sitting/standing, keyboard use, phone use.
Occasional lifting up to 15 lbs.
