Cardiac Care Coordinator
About this role
- Be the clinic’s first point of contact by welcoming and greeting patients over the phone, in a courteous and professional manner.
- Manage the patient referrals from internal providers and call patients to schedule with Cardiology providers. Maintain communication with the prior authorization team for needed authorizations and PCP referrals when applicable.
- Check in patients, collect account balances, co-insurance, and copays; assist patients with filling out forms and completely necessary documentation.
- Document and confirm all pertinent information regarding the patient in the electronic health records to ensure the patient’s needs or concerns are met; make sure all personal and financial information is up to date.
- Maintain efficient patient flow during the check-in and check-out process and keep patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient's arrival and reminding provider of service delays.
- Professionally interact and communicate with patients, family members, visitors, and members of the health care team. Act as a critical liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
- Address patient inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints effectively.
- Verifies benefit eligibility, and obtains prior authorizations as needed for all patients seeking concierge care.
- Conducting various administrative tasks including scanning, emailing, and proper routing of incoming faxes and documents.
- Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information, HIPPA compliancy.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
- This role is 3 days a week remote and 2 days a week in clinic
- At least 2-3 years of medical office experience
- 2-3 years of experience with patient and provider scheduling
- 2-3 years of experience in a customer service role within healthcare.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and patient record management systems.
- Strong commitment to customer service.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Careful attention to detail and follow-through.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
- Basic phone handling skills - Contact Center experience.
- Great organizational and multitasking skills, detail orientated.
- Bilingual a plus.
- Experience collaborating with physicians and nurses.
