Salary Range: $22.00 – $26.00/Hour
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for conducting oilfield standard cement slurries by following API standards, record, and log results in database, communicating testing results to field engineering team, and field operations. Also responsible for maintaining laboratory supplies, conducting regular maintenance on various lab equipment, and maintaining a safe and clean environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Maintain laboratory chemical inventory and supplies.
- Perform weigh up and blend cement slurries per lab request.
- Perform designated laboratory testing in accordance with API Standards.
- Performs complex quality control testing of cementing fluid additives to verify fluid design. Both in a laboratory and field settings.
- Performs additive selection and design of advanced cementing fluids.
- Prepares, operates, maintains, and calibrates equipment in the laboratory in accordance to company standards. Documents laboratory results and reviews.
- Responsible for the disposal of laboratory waste accordingly to property conducted methods.
- Mentor trainees and junior personnel in laboratory operations and procedures.
- Attends periodical safety and operations improvement meetings and participates in the location quality improvement meetings and location quality improvement plans.
- Develops highly advanced laboratory operational and technical understanding of Cementing.
- Interfaces with Research and Technology executing new products to the field.
- Manages and updates spill control, chemical release and evacuation plans according to regional QHSE, public responders and city local regulations.
- Tracks and maintains spare parts, within allocated budget time frame allotted.
- Facilitates and assists in QHSE investigations.
- Maintain a regular logs in logbook, and log results in RCLAB database.
- Communicate laboratory results to field engineers and field operations.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, and repairs as needed
- Must keep work areas clean
- Mus be able to work weekends and holiday when necessary
- Must be able to work overtime as required
- Must be able to operate company equipment in a safe manner
- Must be able to travel as needed, both domestically and internationally.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Other duties and projects as assigned by management.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- The ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the areas of assignment as would be acquired in three to four years of high school
- Must have strong math skills.
- Must have strong analytical skills.
- Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- The ability to lift minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must be able to climb stairs, work off of elevated platforms, in severe weather conditions and in confined spaces.
- Job requires sitting and / or standing for long periods of time with moderate bending, stopping, and kneeling.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment including safety shoes, earplugs, safety glasses, and gloves.
