Job Description and Responsibilities

Rocky Mountain Steel Mills is seeking a Spare Parts Inventory Specialist for our facility in Pueblo, Colorado. This position offers the opportunity to support operational efficiency by ensuring critical spare parts are properly managed, stored, and available to minimize downtime. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with maintenance, procurement, and repair vendors to maintain inventory accuracy and drive continuous improvement in parts management processes.

  • Analyze spare parts inventory to ensure proper min/max planning levels and identify obsolete materials
  • Work with repair facilities to prepare parts for shipment and long-term storage
  • Initiate purchase orders and enter data into Oracle Procurement
  • Generate new part inventory requests and assign location codes in Oracle in accordance with established naming conventions and industry best practices
  • Receive and check incoming shipments against packing slips for accuracy
  • Ship and track part returns to suppliers and repair facilities to ensure critical and capital spare parts remain in a ready state
  • Assist with unloading and movement of maintenance materials delivered to the receiving area
  • Coordinate repair parts processes by working with vendors to capture inspection reports, monitor repair progress, and track expected return-to-inventory timelines
  • Develop spare parts kitting processes to improve efficiency and reduce mean time to repair (MTTR)
  • Perform physical inventory counts and maintain an accurate computerized inventory system and preventative maintenance program

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Journeyman Certification with 5 years of industrial maintenance repair experience or 10 years of equivalent experience
  • Working knowledge of repair processes and best practices
  • Basic knowledge of lean manufacturing, procurement, and manufacturing best practices preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Oracle Procurement, and Oracle eAM (CMMS) preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions using independent judgment and data analysis
  • Valid driver’s license preferred

Compensation

  • $75,000 - $95,000
