About the role:
As the Boiler & Ash/Dust Maintenance Leading Hand, you'll play a key frontline leadership role coordinating daily maintenance activities, providing technical guidance, and supporting safe, efficient execution of work across the boiler and ash/dust plant areas. You'll work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering and contractors to deliver reliable outcomes, while championing safety, continuous improvement and strong team capability.
Why this role matters?
- Coordinate day-to-day maintenance activities across boiler and ash/dust plant, balancing safety, reliability and operational priorities
- Support planning and execution of work through the Work Management System, including scoping, scheduling and backlog management
- Provide hands-on technical support and guidance to trades, contractors and apprentices
- Drive strong safety behaviours, ensuring compliance with WHS legislation, permits, isolations and site standards
- Contribute to defect elimination, reliability improvement and continuous improvement initiatives
- Build effective working relationships across Production, Planning, Engineering and Logistics to support plant reliability
What will you bring?
- Significant post-trade experience in power generation, manufacturing, mining, utilities or heavy industry
- Demonstrated experience coordinating or leading maintenance activities in a frontline operational environment
- Strong working knowledge of maintenance planning, scheduling and execution practices
- Solid understanding of WHS legislation, permit-to-work systems and maintenance safety requirements
- Trade qualification (or equivalent experience), with a Certificate IV in Frontline Management (or willingness to complete)
- Ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to tradespeople and apprentices
