About the role

 

We're looking for an Accountant to join our growing Finance team in Manila, supporting Orica's global operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who thrives in a multinational environment and is looking to build a career with a leading global organization.

In this role, you'll work with stakeholders across multiple regions and business units, delivering financial accounting services that support strategic decision-making and business performance. You'll gain broad exposure to financial reporting, month-end close, forecasting, budgeting, audit activities, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with experienced finance professionals across Orica's global network.

What you will be doing

 

Month End Processes & Procedures

  • Perform assigned month-end activities accurately and on schedule, ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines and corporate requirements.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and ensure timely resolution of outstanding issues.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and Orica accounting policies.
  • Support the delivery of accurate and insightful financial information that enables better business decision-making.
  • Proactively manage key reconciliations, including Assets Under Construction (AUC) and construction accounting activities.
  • Contribute to finance transformation initiatives, process improvements, and projects that drive operational efficiency and value creation.
  • Partner with business units and support functions to provide financial guidance and support.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and deliver services in line with agreed service levels.


Financial & Management Reporting

  • Prepare business unit financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss, Cash Flow, and consolidated financial reports.
  • Prepare trial balances and other financial and management reports to support business performance analysis.
  • Support the annual budgeting process by consolidating, analysing, and reviewing submissions from business units.
  • Assist with monthly and strategic forecasting activities, providing insights and reporting to management.
  • Contribute to delivering accurate and meaningful financial information that supports commercial and operational decisions.


Audit & Balance Sheet Review

  • Prepare audit packs and supporting documentation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely submission.
  • Support internal and external audit activities and act as a key contact for auditor requests and inquiries.
  • Assist in the preparation of Balance Sheet Review templates and supporting schedules.
  • Participate in asset verification exercises and ensure compliance with relevant controls and governance requirements.
  • Help maintain a strong control environment and support continuous improvement of accounting processes.


Administration and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Orica policies, accounting standards, financial authority limits, and Segregation of Duties requirements.
  • Maintain adherence to tax, treasury, statutory, and financial reporting obligations.
  • Process IDPMS and EDPMS documentation and liaise with banking partners to support regulatory compliance and timely transactions.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support a culture of strong governance, compliance, and operational excellence.

What you will bring

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as CPA is highly regarded.
  • Experience in a similar accounting or finance role within a large multinational or global organization.
  • At least 5 years of post-graduate experience in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and month-end processes.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders across different regions and business functions.
  • Exposure to audit environments, either in industry or within a professional services/audit firm, is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a continuous improvement mindset.
