As an Oral Surgery Technician, you'll play a vital role in delivering outstanding patient care while supporting our surgeons throughout consultations and surgical procedures.

Please Note: Previous oral surgery/dental assisting experience is required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and surgical equipment for procedures.
Assist the surgeon during oral surgery procedures, including anesthesia monitoring and patient support.
Obtain and document patient medical histories, vital signs, and treatment information accurately.
Deliver exceptional pre-operative and post-operative patient education and instructions.
Coordinate medical clearances and ensure all required documentation is complete.
Capture high-quality dental radiographs while following all radiation safety guidelines.
Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic health record system.
Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment.
Maintain OSHA, infection control, and HIPAA compliance.
Provide a welcoming, compassionate, and professional experience for every patient.
Collaborate closely with providers and teammates to ensure efficient daily operations.

Required Qualifications

Previous oral surgery or dental assisting experience is required.
Current BLS/CPR Certification.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Comfortable learning new technology and electronic health record systems.
Team-oriented mindset with a positive, patient-first attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assisting or Dental Assistant Certification.
Experience monitoring patients during IV sedation procedures.
Dental radiology certification (where applicable).

Health & Safety Requirements

Current Hepatitis B vaccination and titer.
Current TB screening/clearance.
Compliance with OSHA and infection control standards.

Oral Surgery Associates of North Texas has a team of four oral surgeons.
Dr. Colin S. Bell, Dr. Douglas J. Dingwerth, Dr. Maxwell D. Finn and Dr. William R. Walstad work closely together to provide the utmost quality care and well-being of our patients.

Oral Surgery Associates of North Texas, practices a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also includes techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. We can also diagnose and treat facial pain, facial injuries, and fractures.

Oral and maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, our doctors manage a wide variety of problems relating to the mouth, teeth and facial regions.

Our staff is trained in assisting with Intravenous (IV) sedation or outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
