OpenText Intelligent Viewing is the next generation evolution of OpenText Brava!, delivering secure, cloud-first viewing, annotation, redaction, comparison, and collaboration capabilities for hundreds of document, image, and engineering drawing formats. Built on scalable cloud-native architectures, Intelligent Viewing enables organizations to securely access and collaborate on business-critical content without requiring native applications. The platform supports enterprise-scale deployments, advanced security requirements, redaction workflows, engineering content visualization, and modern content management ecosystems. As organizations modernize from legacy architectures to cloud and hybrid environments, Intelligent Viewing plays a critical role in delivering secure information access and collaboration experiences across OpenText solutions and client applications worldwide.

Your Impact

As a Lead Software Developer on the Intelligent Viewing team, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of OpenText’s cloud-first document visualization and collaboration platform. You will design and develop high-performance C/C++ solutions that power secure viewing, annotation, redaction, and comparison capabilities across Windows, Linux, and WebAssembly environments. Your expertise will influence technical architecture, software quality, and development best practices while helping modernize a complex, enterprise-scale product that serves clients worldwide. Beyond coding, you will mentor fellow developers, drive innovation through automation and CI/CD improvements, and ensure the platform continues to balance backward compatibility with future-focused development, enabling organizations to securely access and collaborate on their most critical business content.

What the Role Offers:

  • Design, develop, and maintain software components in C/C++ that cross-compile on the Windows, Linux, and WebAssembly platforms.
  • Lead technical design discussions, code reviews, architecture decisions, and development best practices.
  • Improve software quality through automation, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development practices.
  • Mentor and guide other developers working on a complex, multifaceted codebase.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Strong proficiency in C/C++ development, with the ability to design, build, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
  • Excellent debugging and analytical problem-solving skills, with a passion for diagnosing and resolving complex technical challenges.
  • Experience working on large-scale enterprise applications, including products with significant legacy functionality and long-term support requirements.
  • Commitment to software development best practices, coding standards, code quality, and comprehensive unit testing.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a growth mindset and a willingness to both mentor others and learn from peers.
  • Ability to thrive in a distributed, global team environment while balancing backward compatibility requirements with modern software development approaches.
  • Experience working in Windows and Linux development environments.
  • Hands-on expertise with rendering and visualization technologies such as Windows APIs, Skia, and WebGL.
  • Strong knowledge of document and graphics formats, including PDF and SVG.
  • Proficiency with development tools and compilers such as Microsoft Visual Studio, GCC, Clang, and Emscripten.
  • Experience with build automation and DevOps tools, including CMake and GitLab CI/CD.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and collaborative software delivery practices.

Compensation: At OpenText, we offer a thoughtfully designed benefits package that supports your physical, emotional, and financial wellbeing. As you move through the hiring process, we’re happy to provide more details about our compensation programs, including variable and commission compensation opportunities for eligible roles, vacation entitlement, and paid time off.

Salary Range: $118,000.00 - $168,000.00; Depending on the candidate’s education, experience, skills, geographical location, and alignment with internal equity and external market, actual salary may vary and be higher or lower than the range posted.
