About the job
OpenTable is seeking a strategic and operationally-minded Director of FP&A to lead financial planning, forecasting, and analysis for our core operational investments. Located in our Toronto office, this role will have primary ownership over the company’s Operating Expenses (OpEx), Capital Expenditures (CapEx), and Commissions modeling and structures. - CapEx Planning & Governance: Oversee the evaluation, tracking, and prioritization of capital expenditures. Develop robust ROI models for major technology, infrastructure, and facilities investments to guide executive decision-making.
- Commissions Oversight: Own the financial oversight of the commission program. Partner with Sales Operations to ensure commission plans are accurate and effective.
- Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted financial advisor to operational leadership, translating complex financial data into actionable insights that drive strategic initiatives.
- Management Reporting: Deliver clear monthly and quarterly financial review packages focusing on spend efficiency, capital deployment, and incentive plan effectiveness for senior leadership.
- Process & Systems Improvement: Continuously scale and automate FP&A processes, particularly around expense tracking and commission calculations, to support organizational growth.
Qualifications
- Experience: 7–10 years of progressive experience in corporate finance, FP&A, or strategic finance, with a strong emphasis on expense management, capital budgeting, and sales compensation finance.
- Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing professional finance team members and leading cross-functional projects.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced financial modeling skills (Excel/Google Sheets) and experience handling large datasets. Proficiency with financial planning tools, ERP software, and commission management platforms (e.g., CaptivateIQ).
- Communication: Strong ability to influence and build partnerships with non-finance executives by presenting financial concepts clearly and concisely.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

This role aligns with that approach, with an expectation of coming into the office two days a week—giving employees the best of both worlds: in-person collaboration and flexibility.
We offer a competitive base salary and benefits including: health benefits; flexible spending account; retirement benefits; life insurance; paid time off (including PTO, paid sick leave, medical leave, bereavement leave, floating holidays and paid holidays); and parental leave benefits. We’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels they belong and can thrive. We know the best ideas come when we bring different voices to the table, so we're building a team as dynamic as the diners and restaurants we serve—and fostering a culture where everyone feels welcome to be themselves.
