Overview

The Ontario Energy Board is undertaking a multi-year business transformation and enterprise modernization program focused on modernizing business processes, digital capabilities and supporting technology platforms through Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Power Platform and other modern technologies.

As part of the transformation team, two Co-op Student Program Analysts (8-Month Term) will contribute to the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of transformation initiatives across the program. Working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary transformation team, business stakeholders and delivery partners, the role provides practical experience across the end-to-end transformation lifecycle, from strategy and planning through implementation, organizational change and adoption.

Success in this role requires curiosity, judgement, initiative, and the ability to learn quickly, adapt to evolving priorities, and contribute meaningfully within a collaborative transformation environment

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to planning, coordination and delivery activities across one of OEB's largest enterprise modernization initiatives.
  • Contribute to executive governance through the development of presentations, dashboards, analytical materials and decision-support content for executive leadership and governance forums.
  • Develop dashboards, reporting, automation and prototype solutions using Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Power Platform and AI-enabled productivity tools.
  • Contribute to business analysis, service design, process improvement and workshop activities, helping translate business needs into practical implementation approaches.
  • Contribute to organizational change, communications, data, testing and implementation readiness activities throughout the transformation lifecycle, adapting to evolving program priorities and opportunities.
  • Research and evaluate leading practices, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches that strengthen enterprise transformation capability.
  • Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams while taking ownership of meaningful workstreams appropriate to experience and development.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in, a recognized post-secondary co-op program in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Technology Management, Information Systems, Commerce, Data Analytics or a related discipline, with eligibility for an approved co-op or work-integrated learning program.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and systems thinking abilities, with curiosity, initiative and the ability to solve complex organizational challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, take ownership of meaningful work, collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams, and communicate ideas clearly.
  • Exposure to enterprise modernization and technology-enabled transformation, including business, project, product, or software delivery lifecycles, gained through academic, professional or practical experience.

Preferred

  • Demonstrated initiative through internships, hackathons, competitions, consulting projects, entrepreneurship, research, application development, automation or other practical experiences that demonstrate creativity, ownership and problem-solving.
  • Experience developing dashboards, automation, prototypes, analytical products or digital solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, AI-enabled productivity tools or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with business analysis, service design, design thinking, process improvement, or human-centered design approaches.
  • Experience communicating complex ideas through presentations, process models, journey maps, prototypes, or other commonly used visual artefacts.
