About PartsVu
PartsVu is a high-growth e-commerce company in the marine parts and accessories industry. We are currently number two in the online category and have doubled our revenue over the last two years. We are projected to double our revenue again over the next two years as we launch new business lines, scale our B2B sector, and expand international opportunities.
While our vendor ecosystem is lean (7 core vendors), our high volume introduces operational complexities around product supersessions, backorders, and order errors. We are currently utilizing manual tracking processes but are executing a major digital transformation, migrating to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central on September 1, 2026. We want to onboard this critical role prior to the launch date to help champion this transition.
Position Summary
We are seeking a vigilant, strategically minded Senior Accountant to serve as the right arm to senior management during an aggressive hyper-growth cycle. In this role, you will transition our manual financial oversight into a highly automated, data-driven operation using Microsoft Business Central.
You will not just crunch numbers—you will be a "hawk" on financial metrics, identifying expense anomalies, safeguarding gross margins, and closely auditing our single largest line item: marketing spend. Additionally, you will lead and mentor a loyal, capable team of two tenured accounting clerks who have been with PartsVu for two years.
Key Responsibilities
- System Migration & Automation: Partner with leadership and implementation partners to ensure a seamless transition to Microsoft Business Central; eliminate manual workarounds by fully leveraging the ERP’s automated monitoring capabilities.
- Financial Oversight & "Hawk" Auditing: Closely monitor daily and monthly financial health, keeping a hyper-focused eye on gross margins, expense anomalies, and marketing budget ROI.
- Complex Inventory & Order Reconciliation: Design automated workflows within Business Central to track and audit e-commerce complexities, including part supersessions, backorders, and vendor order errors.
- Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and review the work of a stable two-person internal accounting team.
- Strategic Advisory: Act as a key sounding board for senior management. Provide rapid, accurate financial data and projections to support B2B scaling and new line-of-business launches.
Required Qualifications
- ERP Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience utilizing and/or implementing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. (or an industry recognized similar system)
- Accounting Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally holding a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager title.
- ROI: Ability to audit, reconcile, and analyze ad spend, budgets, and return on investment across multiple channels.
- Growth Mindset: Proven understanding of financial models/theory, cash flow management, and scalability challenges inherent in rapid growth environments ($25M+).
- Leadership Skills: Experience directly managing or leading accounting staff.
- On-Site Commitment: Ability to work full-time, on-site at our corporate office.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in e-commerce business models (Shopify ecosystem familiarity is a strong plus).
- Background in inventory-heavy, wholesale, or distribution environments.
