Job Overview

OmniOn Power is hiring for a Sourcing Commodity Manager – Power Accessories & Third-Party Buy. The Sourcing Commodity Manager will develop, lead, and execute the global sourcing strategy for OmniOn Power’s third-party buy portfolio, focusing on power accessories including batteries, cables, chargers, and power devices supporting the Core and Datacenter Bus. Tthis role manages external manufacturers (ODMs/OEMs) to optimize total cost of ownership (TCO), secure component capacity, and ensure on-time delivery.

This position reports directly to the Global Sourcing Leader and is based in Plano, TX.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute multi-year lifecycle strategies for the third-party power accessories commodity portfolio.
  • Supplier & ODM Management: Evaluate, qualify, and manage external manufacturers (ODMs/OEMs) through rigorous Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) in partnership with Quality and Materials teams.
  • NPI & Technology Alignment: Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering to identify strategic supplier offerings, aligning roadmap technologies with customer system requirements.
  • Commercial Negotiation: Lead end-to-end RFQ/RFP processes, negotiate Master Services Agreements (MSAs), and manage matrix pricing to maximize project profitability.
  • Cost & Cash Optimization: Build "should-cost" models to drive continuous cost-out initiatives, lead-time reductions, and favorable payment terms (cash flow optimization).
  • Risk & Capacity Mitigation: Track global market drivers, forecast material trends, and secure supplier capacity allocations to prevent component shortages.
  • Operational Excellence: Resolve day-to-day supplier exceptions (quality issues, transport damage, delivery delays) and streamline SAP data integrity, including material master updates and accounts payable dispute resolutions.
  • Global Collaboration: Leverage enterprise-wide spend by collaborating with the Global Commodity counterparts to consolidate the supply base.
  • Travel: Ability to travel as required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) required; Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Negotiation Track Record: 3+ years of direct experience negotiating complex supplier contracts and commercial terms.
  • Technical Familiarity: Prior experience sourcing power electronics, battery technologies, custom cabling, or managing electronics ODMs/OEMs.
  • Systems Expertise: Proficiency in SAP ERP (specifically material master management and purchasing modules).
  • Execution Leadership: Strong project management skills with a proven ability to multitask, influence matrixed teams, and challenge the status quo under tight deadlines.
  • Communication: Exceptional oral, written, and cross-cultural communication skills.
