Overview:
Responsible for ensuring the golf course is well maintained and reflects an image of outstanding quality. The successful candidate must have a desire to learn entry level golf course maintenance job tasks as well as the skills to operate golf maintenance equipment properly. Previous experience is not required.
 
Essential Functions:
· Demonstrate preparation for day’s work by arriving in uniform and with a positive attitude.
· Demonstrate the capability to function as a member of a team to accomplish established goals.
· Carry out all golf course maintenance tasks with a sense of pride and ownership so as to adhere to established quality guidelines for daily course conditioning.
· Inspect all tools and equipment prior to, during and after use. Operate all equipment safely and with care and consideration of its value. Report any damage and or lack of performance to a supervisor.
· Operates a variety of equipment including mowers, sting trimmers, backpack blowers and other small tools.
· Operates self-propelled walking and riding mowers.
· Performs golf maintenance work such as repairing turf using sod, reseeding and setting up protective barriers, planting and pruning trees and shrubs, removing debris, mulching, weeding, cutting up downed trees, etc., using hand and power tools.
 
Requirements:
· Must be able to work outdoors in various weather extremes.
· Must be able to learn to operate and work around potentially hazardous equipment including but not limited to hand tools, trimming tools, mowing equipment, transportation vehicles.
· Must be able to work weekdays and weekends as necessary.
· Must be able to stand up to 60 minutes per hour worked.
· Must be able to walk, climb, bend/stoop, overhead reach, hand/eye coordination, arm/hand movement up to 60 minutes per hour worked.
· Must be able to lift over 40 pounds horizontally, floor to waist, grasping/holding, pushing/pulling, and carrying.
· Experience with general landscape care tasks is preferred but not required.
