An Insurance Verification Specialist is a healthcare professional working to ensure that patients health care benefits are verified. This person will contact insurance companies to verify coverage levels and work with individuals to educate them about their benefits information.
Job duties include, but are not limited to
Responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage. Responsible for confirming the correct Payer ID is used to submit claims.
Responsible for entering data in an accurate manner, including patient benefit information.
Update patient benefit information in the organization's insurance system and verify that existing information is accurate.
This position requires you to spend extensive amounts of time on the phone with insurance companies.
Identify unreported/incomplete insurance coverage.

Qualifications
Must align with OKCIC vision, mission, and core values.
High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience verifying insurance required.
Strong computer skills required.
Knowledge of Electronic Dental Records (EDR) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and respond appropriately to questions.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service.
Demonstrates knowledge, sound judgment, adaptability, and flexibility in the workplace.
