Team Lead (m/f/d) Radiation and Charging

Your Tasks

  • Lead, manage, and develop the Radiation & Charging team, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and innovation-driven work environment
  • Contribute directly to space projects while supporting the preparation of technical proposals, concepts, and effort estimations in the field of Radiation & Charging
  • Ensure the successful execution of all team activities with respect to quality, cost, and schedule
  • Oversee team resource and capacity planning
  • Drive recruitment, onboarding, and talent development activities in close collaboration with Department Management and Human Resources
  • Provide technical guidance and expert support to team members on complex engineering challenges while promoting cross-project knowledge sharing and collaboration
  • Lead the continuous improvement of team processes, methods, and tools, ensuring compliance with company standards and project requirements

Your Qualifications

  • University degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Space Systems Engineering, or a comparable technical/scientific discipline; alternatively, an equivalent qualification combined with relevant professional experience
  • Several years of professional experience in the space industry, ideally with a focus on Radiation Effects, Space Environment Engineering, Spacecraft Charging, or satellite development
  • Strong technical and methodological expertise within the relevant field, including experience in solving complex engineering challenges and contributing to demanding projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, combined with strong collaboration, problem-solving capabilities, analytical thinking, and a creative, innovative mindset
  • High level of empathy, integrity, and assertiveness, with the ability to motivate, develop, and coach team members while effectively transferring knowledge
  • Proven leadership capabilities, including decision-making skills, accountability, and the ability to successfully lead and develop technical teams
  • Strong business acumen with a strategic mindset, results orientation, cost awareness, and the ability to maintain a broader organizational perspective
  • Good understanding of products, technologies, customer requirements, and emerging trends within the space industry
  • Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken; German language skills are considered an advantage
