About this role

The position will offer the opportunity to evaluate, redesign, develop and assemble a solid particle erosion testing rig, with the final objective of improving the overall machine quality and reliability. The role involves research and design work, hands-on implementation of both the structure and possibly also the electronics, supplier coordination, and technical documentation writing.

 

 

Your Responsibilities

 

  • Operating the existing solid particle erosion test rig to evaluate and understand its limitations
  • Conducting a comprehensive literature review of erosion test rigs and methodologies
  • Analyzing the key components of the rig to develop modifications and implementations
  • Developing a detailed CAD model of the current test rig and the modifications
  • Collaborating with suppliers and machining workshops to source components and parts
  • Assembly and commissioning of the test rig for operation
  • Verifying test results and evaluating their reliability
  • Identifying and implementing potential improvements to enhance performance

 

 

Your Profile

 

  • Master’s student in Mechanical Engineering (valid enrollment required)
  • Knowledge of Electronics, Programming and Automation is a plus
  • Strong work ethic with a high level of attention to detail and creativity
  • Hands-on mindset with practical problem-solving skills
  • Good command of English; German is a plus
