Odfjell Technology delivers safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions that save time, cost, and reduce carbon emissions for our clients. Our people connect 50 years of industry experience with the technology of tomorrow. With projects in more than 20 countries we are looking for talented people who can help us overcome the today’s challenges and realise the opportunities ahead.
This role sits within Solutions, part of Odfjell Technology's Global Business Services (GBS). GBS Solutions works across processes, systems and data to keep all three Odfjell companies (Odfjell Drilling, Odfjell Technology, and Odfjell Oceanwind) running well and to support their continued growth and development. With teams in Norway and Manila, we manage and improve systems that the business relies on every day, we deliver projects and improvements, and we turn data into insight for the companies and business areas that we serve.
IFS is the core system at the
Odfjell companies, where it supports finance, projects, HR, supply chain, rental,
maintenance, and more – the operational backbone that our business depends on
every day. As Solution Lead Finance & Project, you will take
ownership of the finance solution area.
This is a role with both depth and
breadth. You will work at the intersection of finance and technology, turning
business needs into robust solutions, and you will do so across three companies.
You will collaborate closely with multiple finance disciplines, other Solution
Leads and specialist teams within Solutions – including colleagues working on
process and project delivery and on data and reporting – and you will guide
dedicated colleagues in our Manila office through planning, prioritising and
following up their work.
The role is not only about today’s
operations, but also about helping the Odfjell companies move forward. The
technology landscape will change considerably in the years ahead, and we intend
to take an active part in it – exploring and adopting new capabilities such as
automation and AI to strengthen how the organisation works. That starts with
the right foundation, and we therefore expect to explore a move towards IFS
Cloud over the coming years. For the right person, this role offers a unique
combination: a chance to learn the solution, get to know the Odfjell companies
and finance area in depth, and then take a leading part in shaping where we go
next.
Key responsibilities
As Solution Lead Finance & Project, you will hold
overall responsibility for the setup, maintenance, development and continuous
improvement of the IFS Finance and Project modules, and for ensuring they
support the organisation effectively in daily operations.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Overall responsibility for the IFS Finance & Project solutions, including configuration, documentation and integrations to relevant supporting systems
- Leading upgrades, improvements and changes within the finance and project solution areas, including testing and documentation
- Ensuring effective support and troubleshooting in cooperation with suppliers and external partners
- Working with the finance disciplines to understand current and future needs, and turning these into solutions
- Ensuring finance data is well structured and supports reliable reporting, in cooperation with our reporting and data specialists
- Planning, prioritising and following up the work of System Administrators in our Manila office
- Sharing knowledge and enabling super-users across companies to support end users
- Maintaining user access controls and supporting audit and compliance requirements within the solution areas
- Contributing to the companies’ direction on ERP, including a future move towards IFS Cloud
Qualification requirements
To succeed in this role, you combine a solid
understanding of finance processes with a genuine interest in systems,
improvement and change, and you enjoy working across disciplines and
organisations.
We expect that you have:
- A relevant bachelor’s degree within Finance or IT, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience with finance-related work processes
- Experience working with ERP systems at system administrator or super-user level
- Experience in driving initiatives, including managing resources and coordinating work
- A good understanding of how finance processes translate into ERP
In addition, it is an advantage if you have:
- Experience with IFS specifically
- Experience with reporting tools and SQL
- Experience from system implementations, upgrades or improvement projects
As a person, you are:
- Structured, thorough, and you take ownership of your area and see tasks through from idea to completion
- Proactive and driven, with the ability to turn business needs into practical solutions
- A strong communicator who builds good working relationships with both business and technical counterparts
Fluency in both Norwegian and English, written and
spoken, is required. Work location for this position can be either Bergen or Stavanger.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and interviews will be scheduled accordingly.
