The Principal Geotechnical Engineer will provide their valued input to all stages of offshore wind developments from project feasibility, through site investigation, into detailed design and throughout operations.

Responsibilities:

You will lead the team on the following items:

  • Acting as technical authority for offshore geotechnical analysis, interpretation and design projects. Preparing, checking and reviewing a wide range of geotechnical documents with a focus on offshore windfarms.
  • Leading the technical aspects of proposals/bids for offshore foundation design projects.
  • Developing your network of business and technical contacts to promote the growth of the geotechnical engineering discipline.
  • Mentoring of early-to-mid career team members.
  • Develop forward thinking geotechnical innovation with a view to creating new state-of-the-art analysis, interpretation, and design methods/tools for our dedicated geo-software team to develop.
  • Liaise with other technical leads and business units within Geowynd and our parent company Ocean Infinity to develop integrated innovative geosolutions from site assessment to foundation detailed design.
  • Representing Geowynd at technical conferences and participating in the publication of high-quality industry leading, peer-reviewed research and design case studies with the aim of promoting the business and improving the knowledge within the overall sector.
  • Complying with Geowynd management system policies, practices, programs, and procedures.
  • Supporting Geowynd and the wider Ocean Infinity Groups environmental and social goals.

Requirements:

  • An excellent understanding of soil mechanics.
  • A demonstrable experience acting as the technical authority for the geotechnical design, analysis and/or interpretation.
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills and an ability to summarise complex information to non-technical project stakeholders.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills required for our fast-paced environment
  • An innovative and creative approach to problem solving
  • A PhD or Master's degree in geotechnical engineering (or similar).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience of geotechnical engineering foundation design, ideally within offshore wind projects.
  • A proven ability to perform in a delivery-focused environment;
  • A thoughtful, thorough and conscientious approach to your work;
  • A proactive mindset with ability to take ownership and engagement in the work;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise work in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;

Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
