About this role

To manage all quantity surveying and commercial activities related to MEP works, including quantity take-off, cost estimation, variation management, subcontractor valuation, cost control, and preparation of interim and final accounts, ensuring commercial success and contractual compliance of the project.

Key Responsibilities

Quantity Surveying & Cost Management

  • Prepare quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and tender documents for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting works.
  • Verify quantities executed at site and maintain accurate measurement records.
  • Monitor project costs against budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and commercial progress reports.
  • Assist in budget preparation and cost planning for ongoing and upcoming projects.

Contract Administration

  • Review contract documents, BOQs, specifications, and conditions of contract.
  • Identify contractual risks and commercial implications.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
  • Maintain proper records of correspondence, instructions, and contractual documents.

Variations & Claims

  • Prepare and submit variation orders, claims, and change order proposals.
  • Evaluate the commercial impact of design changes and additional works.
  • Negotiate and finalize variations with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain a variation register and monitor approval status.

Subcontract Management

  • Evaluate subcontractor quotations and assist in subcontract award recommendations.
  • Prepare subcontract agreements and work orders.
  • Verify subcontractor measurements and certify interim payment applications.
  • Assess and negotiate subcontractor variations and final accounts.

Billing & Payments

  • Prepare monthly interim payment applications and supporting documentation.
  • Verify work progress and coordinate with project teams for billing submissions.
  • Follow up on payment certifications and collections.
  • Prepare final account submissions and project closeout documentation.

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, and Site Teams regarding project quantities and commercial matters.
  • Attend project meetings related to commercial and contractual issues.
  • Prepare monthly commercial reports and management summaries.
  • Support project teams in commercial decision-making.
