BIM Coordinator
About this role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain coordinated BIM models for interior fit-out and joinery works.
- Review architectural, structural, MEP, specialist, and ID models to identify coordination issues.
- Perform clash detection and issue clear coordination reports for resolution.
- Coordinate with design, technical, MEP, project, procurement, and site teams.
- Prepare and update coordinated shop drawings, builders’ work drawings, reflected ceiling plans, and construction details.
- Review subcontractor and supplier models for compliance with project requirements.
- Ensure that model information, naming conventions, LOD, parameters, and file structures comply with the approved BIM Execution Plan.
- Manage model exchanges through the Common Data Environment and maintain proper version control.
- Attend BIM coordination meetings and follow up on identified clashes and outstanding actions.
- Extract schedules, quantities, and other project information from BIM models as required.
- Incorporate approved site changes and prepare accurate as-built BIM models and drawings.
- Support the preparation of BIM submission packages, including federated models, clash reports, and model validation reports.
- Coordinate joinery interfaces with architectural finishes, MEP services, ceilings, flooring, and specialist systems.
- Provide technical support and guidance to BIM modellers and CAD draughtsmen.
- Monitor model quality and ensure submissions are completed within the approved programme.
- Highlight design discrepancies, missing information, and constructability concerns to the Senior Technical Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of BIM experience, preferably within the UAE interior fit-out and joinery industry.
- Strong experience in BIM coordination, shop drawings, and as-built model preparation.
- Good understanding of interior fit-out construction, joinery, architectural finishes, and MEP coordination.
- Experience working on hospitality, residential, commercial, or high-end interior projects is preferred.
- Familiarity with UAE authority and project submission requirements is an advantage.
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Navisworks Manage.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM collaboration platforms.
- Experience in clash detection, model federation, and coordination reporting.
- Knowledge of BIM standards, LOD requirements, COBie, and ISO 19650 principles.
- Ability to extract drawings, schedules, and quantities from BIM models.
- Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360 is preferred.
- Knowledge of Dynamo or other BIM automation tools is an advantage.
