Our Internal Audit team plays a critical role in safeguarding OakNorth by providing independent assurance over technology, cybersecurity, and operational risks. We work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, combining deep technical knowledge with a pragmatic, collaborative approach. ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Technology & Cybersecurity Audit Associate to join OakNorth Bank's Internal Audit team. In this role, you will contribute to technology and cybersecurity audits across all phases — from planning through to reporting — working alongside experienced auditors to identify risks and strengthen controls. This is an exceptional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in technology auditing within a dynamic, high-growth environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Contribute actively to technology and cybersecurity audits, participating in all phases from initial planning through detailed reporting.

• Support the internal audit team by engaging in technology-focused assignments, such as automating audit testing procedures and conducting comprehensive data analysis on large datasets to uncover valuable audit insights.

• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to identify audit requirements, providing proactive assistance and seeking timely guidance throughout each stage of the audit process.

• Assist in the creation, updating, and maintenance of key documentation, including policies, procedures, and control frameworks aligned with industry standards.

• Participate in internal audit reviews and gap assessments to highlight opportunities for process improvements, and help compile and present audit reports and findings to management.
  
  YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT IF YOU HAVE…

• 5+ years of experience with a background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Foundational understanding of IT general controls, Cybersecurity controls, and key industry frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and COBIT.

• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly articulate technical and non-technical information both verbally and in written form.

Nice to Have

• Basic knowledge of data analytics or programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) for automating audit procedures and working with large datasets.

• Experience or strong interest in leveraging AI tools (such as ChatGPT) to improve audit effectiveness, automate processes, and drive innovation.
