Position Summary

This job focuses on programs and event-planning related to all NYU Graduate Students, with particular attention to new student transition and peer leadership. Responsibilities include developing community through large-scale programming, facilitating workshops, university-wide counterpart engagement, and supporting general needs for the Center for Student Life. Programs to coordinate can include initiatives such as NYU Welcome (with a focus on programs for both graduate students and international students), Grad Life Ambassadors peer program, Grad Appreciation Week, Lunchtime Research Discussion Series, Resource Fairs, International Student Transition Program, International Education Week, and cross-cultural peer connections. This role would work closely in collaboration with counterparts across the university. Develop, coordinate, and implement programs and services for the Center for Student Life within the Division of University Life. As an active member of the Center for Student Life team this position will have involvement in student organization advisement, university and departmental policy oversight, program and service assessment, major programming, budget management, communication, marketing, and collaboration with other areas in the Center for Student Life and across campus.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's DegreePreferred Education:Master's Degree in Student Affairs Higher Education or related areaRequired Experience:2+ years related experience administering programs and/or services to college students, including planning and implementing large-scale social and educational programs, creating new student programs and initiatives, advising and supervising students, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Experience:3+ years relevant experience in a college student life environment working with targeted communities of students, student organizations, peer leader programs, new student orientation, or equivalent combinations.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage work concurrently. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships and communicate with diverse populations and stakeholders. Knowledge of standard office productivity software.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Working knowledge of student development theory and higher education practices. Creating and executing program and population assessments. Working knowledge of social media platforms, graphic design programs, event management, and/or student organization software.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
