Position Summary

Arts & Science is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Administrator who will support a variety of human resources functions for Arts & Science. Support faculty affairs workflows; prepare, process, and review appointment-related forms and transactions for faculty, research, and visiting academic populations; provide support for sabbaticals, leaves, and professional development funds. Oversee full-cycle recruitment for temporary employees; coordinate onboarding and systems access. Provide solutions on time-off tracking for hourly paid employees; manage employee overtime, dual appointments, and adjusted work schedule requests. Manage the HR communications calendar; develop and send policy updates and reminders. Participate in departmental special projects as assigned. Perform HR data entry, reporting, and general office reception, including scheduling appointments. Serve as the main point of contact for HR general inquiries for the administrative and academic populations; respond to inquiries displaying a comprehensive knowledge of university and school/division policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Required Education:Bachelor's DegreeRequired Experience:3+ years experience in human resources, including interpreting and communicating policies and procedures, and managing HR-related employment information.Preferred Experience:Relevant professional-level experience as a human resources generalist in an academic environment. Experience in a union environment.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to develop and interpret policies and procedures, to interact effectively with a diverse population at all levels, and to facilitate decision-making. Knowledge of MS Office, Google Suite, spreadsheet, and database software.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Working knowledge of HRIS/HRMS systems, preferably Workday.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $70,000.00 to USD $77,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
