Senior Full-stack Engineer (m/f/d)
About this role
ABOUT NUMA
Hey there! We’re Numa, a forward-thinking hospitality brand redefining how people discover cities. We create spaces where simplicity meets innovation, offering thoughtfully designed rooms, studios, and apartments in the heart of Europe’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.
We’re not just transforming the guest experience—we’re revolutionizing the hospitality industry from the inside out. Our cutting-edge technology streamlines operations, delivering unparalleled value with no hidden fees—just real, quality experiences.
At Numa, we believe that travel should be curious and authentic, and we bring those same values to our work culture. As part of our team, you’ll experience a dynamic and supportive environment where creativity thrives, and your contributions make a real impact. We’re committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace where every voice is valued, and different perspectives fuel our innovation.
About the Role
We're looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to join our Travel Experience team. This is a tight-knit, guest-facing team building products in areas such as online check-in, trip management, guest communication, and authentication.
You'll be the third engineer on a team with a Lead Engineer, Product Manager, and Product Designer. The work is full-stack, though with a user-facing tilt. You'll build polished interfaces in Next.js while also shaping the NestJS APIs and services behind them.
Our Stack & How We Work
Frontend
- Next.js hosted on Vercel
- TypeScript, React, CSS Modules
- Zod, React Hook Form
- Storybook
- React Aria Components, RadixUI
Backend
- NestJS microservices running on AWS Lambda
- AWS services such as DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, and EventBridge
- SST for Infrastructure as Code
- New services adopt Clean Architecture, use-case driven, easy to test, and AI-friendly
Monitoring
- Lumigo and Sentry
Developer Tools
- Claude Code and Cursor for AI-assisted development
- GitHub with CodeRabbit for code reviews
Process
- Linear for product management
- 2-week sprints with daily standups, refinements, sprint planning, and retros
- First Friday of each sprint is dedicated to tech gardening, where we improve our codebase, documentation, monitoring, and chip away at technical debt
What We're Looking For
Strong technical skills are important, but how you approach your work is just as important.
You're a good fit if you:
- Own your work. When something's unclear, you investigate, propose solutions, and unblock yourself. You stick to your word.
- Communicate proactively. When something's off, you raise it constructively in standups, retros, or Slack. Not as blame, but as a path forward.
- Obsess over quality. We're guest-facing. Details matter. You catch the edge cases, polish the UI, and don't ship "good enough."
- Learn fast and stay curious. You seek feedback, evolve your skills, and aren't defensive when someone challenges your approach.
- Have good product taste. You understand trade-offs, think beyond the ticket, and balance technical decisions with what's best for the guest experience.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment. We move quickly. You're energized by that, not overwhelmed.
- Lift others up. You share context, give thoughtful code reviews, and help teammates grow. You're patient when pairing and generous with your knowledge.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional full-stack engineering experience
- Strong experience with Next.js, TypeScript, React, and CSS
- Strong experience with Node.js and API design
- Hands-on experience with serverless (Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS)
- Comfortable with Agentic workflows, able to leverage agents in a structured way
- Fluency in English
- Self-starter with an ownership mindset
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with NestJS
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (SST preferred)
- Exposure to Clean Architecture or Domain-Driven Design patterns

Company at a glance
Numa is the AI Customer Operations System built for automotive dealerships.
We fix why calls go uanswered, why advisors & reps spend their day on status updates instead of selling, why managers get blindsided by bad CSI reviews, and why every department operates in its own silo.
Numa's AI agents answer and route every call, book appointments automatically, send proactive RO status updates, flag heat cases before CSI takes the hit, follow up on declined services and equity opportunities, and give managers full visibility into every customer communication across every department. All min one inbox and one shared context.
Numa is the only auto dealership AI trusted by 1000+ dealers. Numa is also the only dealership AI that blends Silicon Valley DNA with Automotive DNA. Silicon Valley serial entrepreneurs, 50+ AI / Machine Learning & PhD Engineers and 150+ years combined of dealership GM experience. It’s like if Roger Penske and Steve Jobs joined forces to raise $50M from Google, Mitsui (500+ rooftops) and Tesla’s founding investor to build AI for dealerships.
Numa tackles the dealership communication crisis head-on. We’ve handled 20M calls for dealers in the last year (10% appointment related). Because Numa is a shared inbox for customer comms, we give dealership leaders unprecedented visibility into communications... and the accountability that comes with it. No more wondering how many customers are behind those red blinking lights on your phones and who hasn’t responded.
With Numa, dealers respond faster. From 23 hrs average to under 20 min. We rescue thousands of ROs and millions of RO $ per year, per rooftop. Also, dealer service advisors love working in Numa. They learn and ramp faster and stay longer, saving dealerships countless $ in training, recruiting and lost productivity.
Top Benefits
- Complimentary stay at Numa properties
- Exclusive discounts on apartments for friends and family
- Team-building events
- Professional growth opportunities
