About Novig
Novig is building America's #1 sports prediction market. Our mission is to financialize and democratize sports trading - taking a closed system run by casinos and turning it into a fair, efficient, two-sided market where the power sits with users.
With Novig recently becoming a CFTC-designated market — the fastest designation of its kind in US history— we're bringing the prediction market built for sports fans nationwide.
We're backed by some of Silicon Valley's top investors — Pantera, Forerunner, Lux, NFX, Paul Graham, and Joe Montana — who have collectively invested over $100M behind this vision.
About the Role
Ludlow Exchange, which Novig is built on, is a Designated Contract Market. That means the rules we write are federal rules, the standards we set get filed with the CFTC, and the commitments we make are ones we can be held to. In the last two months, we received the fastest DCM designation in Commission history, launched nationwide, filed the first responsible-trading framework codified into a prediction market rulebook, and opened federal litigation against four states.
You'll work directly with our Chief Regulatory & Legal Affairs Officer as the connective tissue of the regulatory function — tracking every open rulemaking, drafting and shepherding filings, running board and committee governance, and turning what we've committed to on paper into something the company actually does. You'll own workstreams end to end from your first month, and you'll be in the room for decisions that determine what this market is allowed to be.
The regulatory landscape for prediction markets is being written right now, in public, on a deadline. This is the seat with the best view of it.
Who you are and what you will do:
Track every open rulemaking, comment deadline, and filing, turning rulebook commitments into written procedures, metrics, and review cycles
Build the systems that 10x the productivity of the team — trackers, templates, calendars, and briefing documents that don't exist yet
Engage directly with the Hill, state governments, and federal agencies including the CFTC and Treasury
You are detail-oriented and highly organized with excellent executive functioning
You are obsessive and believe deeply in the power of markets
You are creative, like working with other creative people, and are motivated by the challenge of an arbitrarily locked door
You have good ideas and want to be in an environment where ideas compete, not titles
You hate information siloing and dogma
You are a team player who believes deeply in the idea of winning as a group. You can disagree without taking things personally
Nice-to-haves: Backgrounds in law, policy, government, markets, or journalism
Why work here, in the words of the people who do:
“I work with extremely stellar people, I own real systems, and decisions happen fast. No politics, no waiting for needless red tape. If something's broken, I fix it. If I build something good, it ships.”
“The people! They're smart, thoughtful, fun to work with and passionate about their craft.”
“I'm having the most fun I've had in my entire career.”
If you want responsibility, trust, and the chance to help build the future of sports prediction markets - take your shot, we’d love to connect.
Not for everyone
Our work is tied to live sports - that means potential nights, weekends, and pressure included.
If you need clear swim lanes, a heavy process, or someone to tell you what to do, this won’t be the right environment.

About Novig
At Novig, we have reimagined the sports betting landscape by building a sweepstakes-based sports prediction market. Our innovative platform allows users to engage in sports predictions without traditional gambling constraints. By leveraging the sweepstakes model, we ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while providing a unique, engaging, and profitable experience for our users. Our goal is to make sports prediction more accessible, fair, and enjoyable. Novig’s founders, Jacob and Kelechi, are recent Harvard grads with experience at Jane St & BoA who started Novig with the belief that a commission-free P2P exchange model will replace the exploitative and unprofitable betting model of traditional sportsbooks. They themselves were sophisticated sports bettors who grew increasingly frustrated by the latency, discriminatory practices, monotony, and non-profitability of the retail sports betting experience. As the regulatory landscape evolves in the United States, Novig is positioned to become a leading innovator with our unique focus on research and technology.
Technology
We're building the first high-frequency sports prediction trading platform. Stack: mobile app in React Native; backend exchange and trading components in Java; database layer in PostgreSQL, Mongo, S3. We’re a nimble team of researchers, engineers, statisticians, and other flavors of nerd who want to tackle some of the most challenging open-ended problems at the intersection of sports, game theory, and technology. If you enjoy solving hard interdisciplinary problems, then you’ll enjoy working at Novig.
