Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman is seeking a Supply Chain Planning Specialist who is experienced in supply chain management and is a motivated self-starter to support the Targeting Operating Unit within the Electronic Warfare & Targeting Business Unit. This position is located in our Rolling Meadows, IL facility and is contingent upon anticipated award in the fall 2026.
Job Description
- Support supply chain execution for assigned programs, serving as a primary point of contact for material planning and supplier-related matters.
- Develop and maintain material plans that align procurement activities and supplier deliveries with program requirements and schedules
- Partner with Procurement and MRP teams to ensure requisitions and purchase orders are released in a timely manner and aligned with material need dates.
- Monitor supplier commitments, delivery schedules, quality, and overall performance to ensure timely delivery of conforming material.
- Work directly with suppliers to resolve delivery, capacity, quality, and other execution issues and develop recovery plans when commitments are at risk.
- Partner with Engineering and suppliers to facilitate resolution of technical issues affecting material availability, manufacturing, or delivery schedules.
- Identify material risks and critical path procurements and proactively communicate potential impacts to program stakeholders.
- Support material cost objectives by monitoring supplier commitments and forecasts and partnering with Procurement to ensure material is negotiated and managed within established budgets.
- Analyze MRP outputs, demand requirements, lead times, inventory, and supplier capacity to identify potential shortages and recommend appropriate actions.
- Provide material status, supplier performance, risks, and recovery plans to Program Management and functional leadership.
- Support Business Management with material forecasts, cost information, and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) reporting requirements

Basic Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 2 years of experience in supply chain, contracts, business and/or related field OR Master's degree and minimum of 0 years of experience in supply chain, contracts, business and/or related field.
- SAP experience or any ERP system
- U.S. Citizenship
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret Clearance.
Preferred Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in Supply Chain, Business or Operations, or Financial Planning.
- Experience in Earned Value Management Systems
- Control Account Manager (CAM) certification
- Experience in Federal and Defense contracting requirements including ITAR, DOS licenses, FAR and DFARS.
