Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Staff Support Equipment Engineer to lead the Support Equipment technical discipline within the newly established Product Support CoTE. Position will be located in Oklahoma City, OK.
The PS CoTE Support Equipment Engineer will unite programs, engineers, and technical experts under a shared set of tools, processes, and practices to ensure a consistent, cohesive, and collaborative approach across all AS sector programs. This position partners closely with leads to empower, equip, and train Training professionals to support current program and capture execution, and long-term business needs.
The Support Equipment Engineer must demonstrate deep technical knowledge and expertise in Support Equipment to serve at the focal point for Independent Reviews and proposal support. Will also support the execution of technical Product Support NCTA projects. The role requires an understanding of the following related PS technical disciplines: Prognostic Health Management, Supportable Low Observables (SLO), Training & Training Systems, Support Hardware, Fleet & Field Support, and Product Support Management. They will own processes, tools, and training for the Support Equipment discipline, ensure process excellence and compliance in collaboration with program technical leaders spanning the full product life cycle across the portfolio of NGAS.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership and define strategic vision for technical priorities within Support Equipment discipline in the PS CoTE, aligned to long-term sector strategy.
- Partner with program discipline leads to understand program critical skill needs and gaps in engineering tools, processes, digital solutions, and technical training
- Own all technical processes and manuals aligned to the discipline area, ensuring technical excellence and technical compliance.
- Lead the development, deployment, and sustainment of new/modified discipline processes with a goal to strengthen technical excellence and workforce capabilities that result in improved business results.
- Lead the development, deployment, and sustainment of discipline tools, ensuring tools are integrated into the discipline processes, support overall digital solutions, are relevant, scalable, and interoperable across programs and associated training material to support effective usage.
- Develop discipline training framework and technical content to enable a prepared and high performing work force. Develop metrics and monitor training effectiveness in collaboration with program execution teams.
- Collaborate with Sector Integration and Operations organizations to translate tool, process and training needs into funded initiatives and frameworks and to monitor and measure effectiveness.
- Partner with programs for adoption of tools, processes, digital solutions and training.
- Oversee and allocate the Support Equipment discipline’s NCTA and indirect budgets to strengthen technical excellence; advance tools, processes, and workforce capabilities; and generate measurable impact on program performance and future competitiveness.
- Represent the Support Equipment discipline in sector-wide and enterprise-wide technical development efforts related to technical development, technical career pathing, technical training, and critical skills investment.
- Participate in sector-level talent reviews and succession planning to maintain discipline-wide visibility into talent strengths, gaps, and growth opportunities.
- Partner with leads to understand program critical skill needs and collaborate with SI&O to translate skill needs into funded technical training programs and onboarding frameworks.
- Build and sustain a strong discipline Community of Practice (CoP), ensuring alignment of sub-CoPs, strategies, and priorities while fostering collaboration across programs and sub-disciplines.
- Contribute technical expertise and process leadership in major proposal reviews, program reviews, independent technical reviews, program stand-up reviews, NCTA and indirect activities, and other sector-wide improvement efforts.
- Act as a trusted advisor to help resolve technical performance shortfalls through root cause analysis, corrective action planning, long-term verification of improvement.
- Capture, share, and embed lessons learned and best practices across programs to continuously raise the bar for technical performance.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline AND 12 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master’s of Science degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military experience.
- Must have an active US Government Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation) with ability to obtain TS/SCI.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs
- Expertise in establishing engineering standards, tools, and processes at scale.
- Working knowledge of US Government Logistics / Sustainment / MRO customers and Northrop Grumman military aircraft types and mission and execution.
Preferred Qualifications Both Levels:
- Current Special Program Access (PAR)
- MS or MBA degree.
- Program management experience.
- Experience working across the total program lifecycle with emphasis on influencing design to optimize the fielded support solution.
- Experience with or exposure to digital design initiatives and solutions to include Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Model Based Sustainment (MBS).
- Continuous improvement mindset with experience leading process optimization.
- Strategic, systems-level thinker who can build alignment across functional and program boundaries.
- Experience providing International Product Support solutions.Responsible for research and/or product development in more than one engineering discipline.
