Systems Engineer - Mission Software (Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly to start)
About this role
North Point Technology is looking to hire a Systems Engineer to support a cutting-edge geospatial intelligence data management program serving a major national security mission. This role requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph. The program delivers advanced geospatial analysis and production capabilities, supporting thousands of intelligence analysts and decision-makers across dozens of locations worldwide. As part of an Agile SCRUM development team, the selected candidate will serve as an embedded systems engineer contributing to next-generation mission software that is shaping the future of geospatial intelligence.
Responsibilities:
In this role, the Systems Engineer will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and requirements analysis across all phases of the software development lifecycle. The engineer will support functional analysis, timeline analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition efforts to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Working directly within a Scrum team, the engineer will develop and maintain system models, author and manage requirements artifacts, conduct user outreach, and collaborate with software architects to ensure the design of the software architecture properly addresses mission requirements.
Required Skills/Experience:
- System modeling using Cameo (SysML/UML modeling tool)
- Requirements definition and artifact creation using Jira and Confluence
- Experience working within a Scrum/Agile development team
- Functional analysis, requirements allocation, and interface definition
- System architecture analysis and design
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of GEOINT analytic workflows
- Familiarity with Cedalion or Orchestration Services applications
- Experience on a software-focused systems engineering program
- Conducting user outreach and requirements elicitation sessions
- AI prompting techniques as applied to systems engineering tasks
Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph required to start
