About this role
As a Safety Software Test Engineer (m/f/d), you will play a key role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and quality of our wind turbine software. Your focus will be on developing, automating, executing, and evaluating safety-critical test routines in an international, cross-functional engineering environment.

YOUR TASKS
- Analyze functional and safety-related software requirements and translate them into structured test specifications and test cases
- Develop, automate, and execute test routines for safety-critical software used in wind turbine systems
- Program and maintain automated test cases using Exam MicroNova and Python
- Configure, operate, and further develop real-time simulation environments for testing safety-related software functionalities

Perform safety software tests, analyze test results, identify deviations, and document findings in a clear and traceable manner

Create, review, and maintain technical documentation and test specifications in accordance with ISO 13849-2 and the Machinery Directive

Support regression testing as part of the software release process and continuously improve automated test systems

Collaborate closely with software development, system engineering, safety engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders to verify and validate software specifications

Contribute to the continuous improvement of test methods, tools, and processes within the safety software testing environment
YOUR PROFILE
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Automation Technology, or a comparable field
- Practical experience in software testing, ideally in safety-critical systems, embedded systems, automation technology, or a comparable technical environment
- Sound knowledge of the Machinery Directive and ISO 13849-2-related processes
- Strong Python skills; experience with Exam MicroNova is an advantage
- Familiarity with Ethernet technologies, bus systems, and real-time simulation systems
- Knowledge of WINMOD simulations is a plus for creating, executing, and analysing software tests
- Ability to understand technical specifications and translate them into reliable test concepts and test cases
- Certification as a software tester, for example ISTQB, is desirable
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively and reliably in an international engineering environment
- Structured, analytical, and responsible working style with a strong quality and safety mindset
- Fluent English skills; German or Spanish language skills are a plus
