Job Summary

Oakridge International School Bangalore is looking for an Early Years Homeroom Teacher to create a nurturing, engaging and inquiry-based learning environment for young learners. The role involves implementing the IB EYP curriculum through play-based learning while supporting students’ academic, social, emotional and overall development.

Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Early Years Homeroom Teacher to join our IB School. The candidate will be responsible for creating a positive, engaging and nurturing learning environment for young learners.

The role involves planning and delivering age-appropriate lessons, implementing the IB EYP curriculum, supporting play-based and inquiry-based learning, and monitoring students’ academic and overall development. The teacher will encourage curiosity, creativity, independence and positive social skills while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.

The candidate will also collaborate with Teaching Assistants, specialist teachers and parents to support each child’s individual learning needs and contribute positively to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate IB EYP learning experiences.
Implement inquiry-based and play-based teaching strategies.
Create a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
Monitor and assess students’ learning and developmental progress.
Differentiate learning based on individual student needs.
Promote curiosity, creativity, independence and collaboration.
Maintain effective classroom management and positive behaviour.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress.
Collaborate with Teaching Assistants, specialist teachers and coordinators.
Ensure student wellbeing, safety and safeguarding at all times.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education,
Education or a relevant field. B.Ed / NTT / ECCE / Montessori qualification preferred.
Prior experience teaching Early Years / Kindergarten students.
IB EYP/PYP experience or certification preferred.
Strong proficiency in English communication.
Knowledge of child development and Early Years teaching practices.
