Legal Counsel to NOBA in Helsinki

NOBA Legal consists of 15 legal counsels with various areas of expertise, based in Stockholm, Oslo, and Helsinki. You’ll play a key role in developing our new mortgage operations in Finland, contributing with your legal expertise from the very beginning as we establish new processes and ways of working. Alongside your colleagues, you’ll handle a variety of legal matters, deliver pragmatic advice, and help shape new approaches in an evolving environment.

What you’ll do:

• Support in the setup-up of a new Finnish subsidiary in NOBA, with a focus on mortgage loan offering in the Finnish market

• Act as a trusted legal advisor in a cross-functional setup, handling complex and detailed legal matters related to the Finnish mortgage product and operations

• Provide legal analysis, strategy, and execution in disputes and litigation

• Collaborate closely with business, operations, and other stakeholders in NOBA to deliver balanced, pragmatic, and legally sound solutions

• Support the continuous development of processes, tools, and ways of working

• Contribute your expertise to the legal build-up of our new mortgage division in Finland

Who we’re looking for:

• Finnish legal degree

• 3-5 years of experience in an independent legal counsel role, preferably within secured loans

• Deep understanding of relevant banking regulations (consumer protection, pledges, marketing, collections)

• Demonstrated experience of contract law, corporate governance matters, compliance regulations (AML, KYC, GDPR), and risk management

• Fluency in Finnish and English
