Credit Risk Analyst - NPL

Stockholm · Hybrid

About this role

NOBA Bank Group is looking for a curious and driven Credit Risk Analyst with a strong interest in analyzing and managing Non-Performing Loans (NPLs). You will join the Group Portfolio Analytics team, responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the analytics and reporting infrastructure that supports NOBA's continued growth and sound risk management.

NOBA holds a market-leading position in the Nordics, and the NPL team manages a substantial share of the region's non-performing loan portfolios, amounting to a net value of c. 11bn SEK. This role offers hands-on exposure to large, complex portfolios, high-quality data, and analytical work that directly influences both commercial and risk-related decisions – a strong platform to deepen a career in credit risk.

You will be part of a talented group of experienced and highly skilled colleagues across the organization, who will support your development as you help shape decision-making and drive continuous improvements in how NPL portfolios are analyzed, managed, and finally divested.

About the role:

As a Credit Risk Analyst at NOBA, you will play an active role in developing and strengthening how NPL portfolios are managed across the bank. Working closely with a cross-functional NPL team, you will combine hands-on data analysis with growing business understanding to deliver insights that support portfolio performance, strategy, and sales activities related to NPLs. You will work alongside experienced colleagues across the organization and have the support to make an impact quickly.

Main tasks:

  • Delivering data-driven insights to help maximize value creation from NOBA's NPL portfolio

  • Building and developing a strong understanding of collection data across countries and brands

  • Supporting the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of group-wide NPL reporting, covering:

    • Debt collection performance

    • Group NPE strategy

    • Performance of securitized NPL portfolios

  • Helping ensure availability, accuracy, and consistency of data and reports across the Group

  • Supporting NPL sales and divestments, including analytical and reporting deliverables

  • Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders such as Risk Control, Finance, Collections, Underwriting, and Data Engineering

  • Working with external debt collection agencies and partners on data extraction, quality, and reporting

We are looking for you who:

  • Have a track record in analytical roles, whether gained early in your career or over several years

  • Hold a degree in Industrial Engineering and Management ("Industriell ekonomi") or another quantitative discipline (engineering, economics, statistics, or similar)

  • Have good technical skills in one or more of: SQL, Python, R (SAS is a plus but not required)

  • Are self-driven, solution-oriented, and able to prioritize independently

  • Have a genuine interest in banking, credit risk, and data-driven decision-making

  • Communicate well and enjoy collaborating with different stakeholders

  • Are professionally proficient in English and at least one Scandinavian language

We welcome applicants at different levels — remuneration is set according to seniority and experience.

It's positive if you also bring:

  • Interest in or exposure to regulatory/financial reporting (e.g. SFSA)

  • Experience with statistical methods such as A/B testing or regression analysis, from coursework or projects

  • Interest in or experience working across Nordic markets

To thrive and perform well in the role, we believe that:
You are curious, eager to learn, and enjoy taking ownership of your work from day one. You build trust through clear communication and collaboration, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and can balance a hands-on, detail-oriented approach with an interest in the bigger strategic picture. If you want real responsibility and impact in credit risk at one of Europe's largest specialist banks, this role is for you.

In addition to this, it is important to us that you recognize yourself in our values: we are wholehearted, we collaborate and we take the lead.
