About SPMS:

The School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) at NTU is dedicated to high-impact scientific research and technological innovation in optics, physics, and advanced instrumentation.

We are seeking a motivated Project Officer / Research Assistant to join our group focusing on structured light and optical manipulation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct numerical simulations (COMSOL, FDTD, Matlab) of optical forces and particle dynamics under structured light.

  • Setup and run optical tweezers experiments to verify theoretical models.

  • Analyze research data and assist in preparing scientific publications.

  • Assist with general laboratory management and administrative tasks.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physics, Optics, Precision Instrumentation, or related fields.

  • Experience in optical tweezers setups or numerical wave-optical/electromagnetic simulations.

  • Proficient in tools such as Matlab, COMSOL, FDTD Lumerical, or Python.

  • Good communication and writing skills.
