We are seeking an experienced Mandarin-speaking Purchasing & Shipping Officer to join our team at North Ryde. This is a hybrid role combining purchasing administration with shipping and logistics coordination. The position offers flexibility, allowing the successful candidate to choose between full-time or part-time employment according to their preference and availability.

  • Compiling purchase orders
  • Corresponding with overseas suppliers (predominantly China and Vietnam)
  • Checking and maintaining the accuracy of supplier reports
  • Coordinating orders with suppliers
  • Ensuring orders are accurately allocated to shipping containers within specified timeframes
  • Reviewing and checking shipping documents once goods have shipped, and reconciling these against purchase orders and invoices
  • Coordinating container bookings with shippers/forwarders to ensure bookings align with our shipping schedules and container fit/utilisation requirements
  • Attending to enquiries from showrooms and warehouses
  • Assisting with purchasing team administration

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Mandarin is essential
  • Experienced and knowledgeable in exporting/importing, including payment terms and import documentation/procedures
  • Experience reviewing and reconciling shipping documents (e.g. bills of lading, packing lists, commercial invoices)
  • Experience coordinating container bookings with overseas shippers/forwarders
  • Excellent office administration experience
  • A motivated self-starter with an eye for detail
  • Competent using Microsoft Office software
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
