Overview
The Cloud Platform Operations Manager leads cloud operations to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performing environments across platforms like GCP and OCI, while driving efficiency, automation, and continuous improvement in collaboration with IT and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and optimize cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)
- Lead cloud operations teams to ensure system reliability, uptime, and performance
- Monitor cloud infrastructure and implement proactive measures to prevent incidents
- Oversee incident response, root cause analysis, and resolution processes
- Ensure cloud security, compliance, and governance standards are maintained
- Manage cloud cost optimization and resource utilization strategies
- Develop and enforce operational best practices, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with DevOps, engineering, and IT teams for deployment and scaling
- Implement automation tools and CI/CD pipelines for operational efficiency
- Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 7 years of experience in IT operations or cloud infrastructure
- Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (GCP or OCI preferred)
- Strong understanding of networking, virtualization, and system architecture
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
