Vendor Operations Manager

NSW - SHS 2 Holt Street Surry Hills · Hybrid

About this role

What's the role?

Join our Technology, Data and Digital (TDD) Vendor Management Office to lead the day-to-day governance of our primary technology partner. In this pivotal role, you will establish the SLA/KPI measurement and commercial governance function, ensuring that contractual obligations consistently translate into verifiable business outcomes. You will hold a strategic vendor accountable, interrogate performance data, and collaborate closely with internal technical leads and the vendor's account team to drive a successful managed services transition.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and refine the SLA and KPI measurement and reporting framework for the managed services contract to give leadership clear visibility into vendor performance.

  • Lead weekly operational check-ins and co-chair monthly Service Review Boards with the vendor's Account Director.

  • Maintain a live register of contractual obligations, proactively escalate compliance gaps, and enforce service credits for missed targets.

  • Protect the fixed-fee boundary by managing the Demand Register and updating the Complexity Unit model as applications change.

  • Independently audit quarterly AI Efficiency claims against raw data lake actuals to verify automation benefits and apply quality thresholds.

  • Work with Finance and the vendor to validate statements of work, purchase orders, and invoices, ensuring strict rate card compliance.

Who are you?

  • You have proven experience in vendor operations or contract management, ideally within large-scale outsourced environments.

  • You possess a solid grasp of managed services contracts, SLA/KPI frameworks, service credits, and outcome-based models, alongside working knowledge of ITIL frameworks.

  • You are highly analytical and detail-oriented, able to interrogate performance data from dashboards and BigQuery to deliver actionable insights.

  • You have experience designing new measurement frameworks from scratch and running contract governance forums to hold strategic partners accountable.

  • You are a strategic influencer with exceptional communication skills, able to constructively align vendor expectations while maintaining a productive partnership.

  • You are highly contract literate, comfortable applying MSAs, statements of work, and schedules to resolve commercial and compliance queries.
