Your Contribution

Reporting to the Director, Health & Safety, Global Exploration & Geosciences, you will be a key member of both the global E&G H&S Leadership Team and the Africa, Asia Pacific (AAP) E&G Leadership Team.

You will lead a small team of H&S Advisors across AAP, setting priorities and providing coaching, technical guidance and practical field support.

You will partner with regional and global leaders to strengthen risk management across near-mine and greenfields projects, including work in Australia, Papua New Guinea, Ghana and other jurisdictions.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

• Lead the AAP H&S Advisor team, set clear priorities and build capability.
• Support leaders to implement safety strategies, standards and the Always Safe framework.
• Support near-mine and greenfields projects through planning, mobilisation, contractor management and operational readiness.
• Facilitate risk assessments, verify controls and help teams manage material risks.
• Coordinate governance, assurance, reporting, audits and field verification.
• Monitor compliance with legislation, company standards and industry good practice.
• Lead or support investigations, corrective actions and lessons learned.

Prerequisites for Your Success in This Role

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in health and safety, science, engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in mining, exploration or other high-risk field environments.
• Experience across multiple sites, projects or jurisdictions, including remote operations.
• Strong understanding of safety systems, material risk, assurance, investigations and contractor management.
• Ability to apply regulatory and company requirements in practical field settings.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to build trust with operational, technical and corporate stakeholders.
• Ability to manage complexity, competing priorities and dispersed work programs.
• Cross-cultural or international experience will be highly regarded.

Your Work Environment

This permanent position may be based in Brisbane or Perth, Australia, subject to eligibility to work in the chosen location.

The role involves regular domestic and international travel, around 50% of working time, including time in remote field locations.
