Purpose

To support early detection of equipment defects through condition monitoring.

Essential Duties
  • Conduct routine condition monitoring inspections on critical fixed plant equipment.
  • Collect, record, and validate equipment condition data (vibration, thermography, lubrication conditions, etc.).
  • Support defect identification and logging into the work management system.
  • Assist reliability engineers and planners in analyzing trends and identifying failure patterns.
  • Contribute to the defect elimination program by tracking defects and supporting follow-up actions.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping in work areas and during inspections.
  • Support safe execution of condition monitoring inspections (vibration, temperature, visual checks) in compliance with site safety standards.
  • Participate in hazard identification and reporting during inspections.
  • Assist in promoting a culture of chronic unease by identifying early signs of equipment failure that could lead to safety incidents.
  • Ensure proper documentation of findings to support traceability and long-term asset health tracking.
Training & Experience

Knowledge:

  • Final-year student in: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related field
  • General understanding of digital transformation concepts (value delivery, adoption, operating rhythm, and continuous improvement).
  • Foundational understanding of enterprise data and analytics concepts (data quality, definitions, lineage/traceability, and reporting reliability).
  • Awareness of governance principles (roles, decision records, standards, and accountability mechanisms).
  • Awareness of responsible data practices (privacy, access, and appropriate handling of sensitive information).
  • Understanding of organizational dynamics and stakeholder management basics (how to capture needs, align expectations, and communicate clearly)

Technical skills:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and industrial equipment (pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes).
  • Foundational knowledge or interest in condition monitoring techniques, including:
    o Vibration analysis (basic level)
    o Infrared thermography (basic level)
    o Lubrication and tribology fundamentals
  • Ability to collect and record accurate data in structured formats (Excel, inspection templates, mobile tools).
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry and simple analysis.
  • Understanding of maintenance workflows (work identification → planning → execution).
  • Strong attention to detail for defect identification and reporting.
  • Willingness to learn and apply reliability engineering principles.
