The Accra Hub is Newmont’s corporate office in Ghana, serving as the strategic centre for our operations in West Africa. Your Impact:
  • Efficiently handle the process of assessing and solving application issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Schedule application fixes and enhancements based on business impact and technical complexity.
  • Collaborate with development teams for timely improvements, administer user acceptance testing, and monitor integrated systems to maintain impactful performance levels.
As Part Of Our Team You Will:
  • Maintain and support in-cabin mining technology solutions, including fleet management systems, fatigue monitoring, and collision detection.
  • Maintain and support surface and underground communication systems (Wi-Fi, Private LTE, leaky feeder, two-way digital radio).
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of IT/OT systems to ensure minimal downtime and sustained productivity.
  • Assist in the execution of technology projects, ensuring alignment with site priorities and operational needs.
  • Execute preventative maintenance programs for in-cabin technology hardware and communication systems to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to operators and users of in-cabin technology and communication systems. Ensure accurate record-keeping of technology assets and maintenance activities.
  • Address technology issues promptly and gather feedback to improve support services and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Identify, track, escalate, and resolve technology-related issues, ensuring effective communication and documentation.
  • Assist in overseeing and supporting vendors and contractors providing specialized support and services, ensuring they meet performance standards and contractual obligations.
  • Participate in training programs to stay updated on new technology and improve technical skills.
Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 – 3 years of experience in supporting mining technology solutions (e.g. Fleet Management systems support (Minestar), Two-way radio ,Fatigue Management systems(Driver safety system) Geo-radar systems , preferably within a mining or heavy industrial environment
  • Driver’s license B

Additional Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with IT service management tools and practices.
  • Understanding of ITIL Cross functional management process.
  • Understanding of vendor and contractor management principles.
  • Knowledge of project execution processes.
  • Understanding of customer satisfaction principles and techniques.
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in the mining industry.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in maintaining and supporting in-cabin mining technology solutions. including fleet management systems, fatigue monitoring, and collision detection.
  • Strong skills in monitoring and optimizing IT/OT systems performance.
  • Expertise in configuring and maintaining communication systems (Wi-Fi, Private LTE, leaky feeder, two-way digital radio).
  • Advanced troubleshooting and issue resolution skills.
  • Ability to execute preventative maintenance programs.
  • Experience in providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance to operators and users.
  • Capability to assist in managing and supporting vendors and contractors.
  • Skills in participating in technology projects.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong technical documentation and record-keeping abilities.
