Newmont Suriname was established in 2004 as an entity of Newmont Mining Corporation and is headquartered in Paramaribo, Suriname. Located in South America, Suriname was originally settled as a Dutch colony, is very culturally diverse and enjoys a tropical climate. The Merian Project is located approximately 60 km south of Moengo in a largely undeveloped part of the country with the nearest permanent settlement, Langa Tabiki, approximately 17 km east from the Project site. Strong support from host communities and the government of Suriname strengthen Merian's ability to deliver safe, profitable production with significant upside potential and opportunity for employees, host communities and shareholders.

Purpose
Support the T&L team by creating and administering purchase orders for T&L spend.
Essential Duties
- Support the T&L team lead by sourcing new local suppliers and handle the supplier relationship management.
- Prepare and administer contracts with local T&L suppliers.
- Monitor local supplier regulations, agreements, and business practices.
- Ensure all contractors are aware of and follow mine safety standards.
Training & Experience
Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field required.
- Relevant certifications in supply chain analytics or data management would be advantageous.
- Broad business knowledge and focus, ability to recognize issues, problems and capitalize on opportunities.
- Knowledge of logistics processes and key performance indicators (KPIs) across multi-site operations.
- Strong understanding of data analysis tools (Excel, SQL) and logistics software (TMS, SAP).
- Knowledge of regional transportation regulations and vendor management.
- Trade compliance regulations in LATAC.Recycling regulations in LATAC.
- Extensive experience in SC in international mining environments or other related sectors.
- Experience in logistics or supply chain analytics roles, preferably supporting regional or global logistics operations.
- Experience analyzing transportation data, identifying trends, and creating reports for senior stakeholders.
- Previous experience in logistics performance monitoring, vendor analysis, and supporting contract negotiations.
Technical skills:
- Business acumen and commercial management skills related to sourcing and procurement regulations and best practices in LATAC.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret large datasets and provide actionable insights.
- Proficiency in logistics software and data visualization tools.
- Communication skills to present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to handle complex regional logistics data.
- Knowledge of supplier quality systems and evaluation criteria.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with local or Indigenous suppliers.
- Contract management and eProcurement systems knowledge.
- Conflict and change management skills.
- Relationship management skills.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
