Positioning itself as “New York’s Leisure Headquarters,” Lawn Club features indoor and outdoor rentable gaming lawns in a massive 25,000 square foot venue, along with amazing cocktails and a streamlined menu of tasty bites. Designed to deliver the ideal atmosphere for hanging out with friends, each rentable lawn at Lawn Club comes with a full complement of popular lawn games - including bocce, cornhole, croquet, ladders, kan jam, beersbee and lawn pong - along with big-screen TVs for sports enjoyment, courtside F&B service, and dedicated “Lawncierges” to help with all gaming needs.   Lawn Club is focused on fun and appeals to a variety of audiences: from twenty-somethings looking for an exciting night out, to corporate event planners, to anyone looking for a great event venue for their next social gathering.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Lawn Club is seeking a high-caliber Director of Events to lead our robust event sales and production business. This is a "heavy-hitter" role for a seasoned professional who thrives at the intersection of highlevel commercial strategy and meticulous operational execution. In the two-plus years since Lawn Club’s opening, our event business has grown rapidly. We now host 1,200+ events annually, ranging from complex corporate experiential activations to high-touch milestone social events. In this role, you will steer the department driving that exciting growth. You’ll be a “player-coach” - overseeing a multi-disciplinary team while also selling directly to clients, particularly for the larger and more complex events that are drawn to Lawn Club for our unique offering.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Department Leadership: Architect and manage a multi-disciplinary team - including Sales, Coordination, and Operations - overseeing the full talent lifecycle from recruitment and training to strategy and execution.  
  • Direct Selling: Develop relationships with top clients and sell-in large-scale and other revenuedriving events throughout the year.
  • Strategic Sales Management: Own an eight-digit annual team revenue target by driving outbound prospecting, implementing KPIs, and engineering new market-responsive event offerings and sales collateral.
  • Revenue Optimization: Maximize per-event profitability through bespoke upselling and crossselling strategies, while collaborating with leadership and marketing to refine and promote Lawn Club's competitive positioning.
  • Operational Mastery: Oversee the technical execution of 1,000+ annual events, ensuring "whiteglove" standards through precise Runs of Show, floorplans, catering logistics, and vendor management.
  • Execution & Compliance: Manage the end-to-end "nitty-gritty" of event logistics, including client budgets, timelines, insurance (COI), and NYC-specific permitting processes.
  • Client & Agency Relations: Cultivate high-level partnerships with corporate clients, event agencies, and milestone event planners to build long-term brand loyalty and retention.
  • Executive Reporting: Act as a strategic partner to company leadership, providing real-time datadriven reports on sales performance, client satisfaction, and operational improvements.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 7 to 10 years of leadership in event sales and production within high-volume environments, with a proven track record of managing $10M+ in annual revenue.
  • Market Mastery: Deep expertise in the New York City hospitality landscape, including large-scale experiential agencies, corporate meetings, and high-touch social markets (e.g., Bar/Bat Mitzvahs).
  • Operational Depth: Comprehensive knowledge of complex event production, including technical floorplans, A/V, custom build-outs, and sophisticated catering service standards.
  • Leadership: 5+ years of experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Business Acumen: Expertise in budget management, contract negotiation, and the use of CRM tools (Tripleseat preferred) to drive data-driven sales strategies.
  • NYC Regulatory Knowledge: Proficient in navigating New York City permitting, TPA requirements, and insurance (COI) compliance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs; Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and climb steps regularly. 
  • Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.

Compensation: 150,000 - 170,000 a year plus commissions
