We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Manager, PR & Communications to help drive communications strategy and media visibility across The New York Post and The California Post. Reporting to the VP of PR & Communications, this highly collaborative role will serve as a key strategic partner in elevating our brands, journalists, executives and industry presence.
The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator, creative thinker and self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced news environment. They are passionate about media, deeply familiar with the New York Post Media Group portfolio of brands, and excited by the opportunity to create meaningful visibility for our journalism, talent and business initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a strategic partner to the VP of PR & Communications, helping develop and execute communications strategies that support business objectives and brand growth.
Proactively identify and secure media opportunities that elevate New York Post and California Post journalists, editors, executives and thought leaders.
Pitch and book reporters, editors and executives across television, radio, podcasts, digital outlets, conferences and industry events.
Drive visibility for exclusive reporting, investigations, editorial franchises and key company initiatives through targeted media outreach.
Manage and maintain the company’s awards calendar, identifying compelling entries across editorial, business, marketing, technology and industry recognition programs.
Oversee the speakers bureau program, identifying opportunities for executives and editorial leaders to participate in conferences, panels and industry events.
Support the planning and execution of tentpole initiatives, corporate announcements, partnerships, events, product launches and special projects.
Draft and edit press releases, media pitches, executive talking points, award submissions, speaker bios and other communications materials.
Build and maintain strong relationships with reporters, producers, bookers, conference organizers and industry stakeholders.
Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities, competitive insights and emerging narratives.
Collaborate closely with editorial, marketing, product, business development and executive teams to ensure consistent messaging and maximize communications impact.
Track, measure, and report on communications performance, including media placements, speaker engagements, awards recognition and other key metrics.
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in public relations, communications, media relations, journalism or a related field.
Strong understanding of the media landscape, including television, radio, podcasts, digital media and industry events.
Demonstrated success securing earned media placements and booking spokespeople across a variety of outlets.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities with a keen attention to detail.
Experience managing awards programs, speaker opportunities or executive visibility initiatives is highly preferred.
Ability to identify compelling story angles and transform business priorities into media opportunities.
Highly organized with excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and make things happen.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with journalists, executives and external partners.
Passion for news, media, entertainment and The Post family of brands, including Page Six, VRT and The California Post.
Energetic, positive, collaborative and solutions-oriented, with a sense of humor and enthusiasm for working in a fast-moving environment.

Base Pay Range: $95,000 - $110,000We’re committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.
For bonus-eligible roles, targets are determined based on multiple considerations, including market benchmarks and individual contributions.
