About the Role

As a Community Disability Practitioner, you will support adults with developmental disabilities, autism, ADHD, and complex behavioural needs within a group living environment. Working alongside a dedicated team, you will help individuals build independence, achieve personal goals, and actively participate in their community.

Your responsibilities may include:

  • Providing emotional, behavioural, and physical support
  • Assisting with daily living activities and personal care
  • Supporting community involvement and recreational activities
  • Accompanying individuals to appointments and outings
  • Implementing support plans and promoting independence
  • Completing documentation and reports accurately
  • Contributing to a safe, respectful, and person-centered environment

Schedule

21 Hours per Week (Temporary until July 2027)

  • Monday – Thursday: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
  • Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Human Services, Disability Studies, Community Rehabilitation, or a related field
  • Intermediate computer and Microsoft Office skills
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License
  • Reliable vehicle with minimum $2 million liability insurance
  • Comfortable supporting individuals with diverse abilities and complex needs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in the human services field
  • Experience in a group home setting
  • Experience providing personal care
  • Knowledge of autism, behavioural supports, and de-escalation techniques
  • Current certifications such as:
    • First Aid/CPR
    • Medication Administration
    • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI)
    • Abuse Prevention Response Protocol (APRP)
    • Positive Behaviour Supports (PBS)
