Focus: Technical Documentation and Product Documentation

This role focuses on creating, structuring, and continuously improving standards-compliant product documentation for robotics products, while helping to make technical documentation future-proof for upcoming regulatory, digital, terminology, and AI-supported documentation requirements.

Your general tasks:

  • Creation of high-quality, standards-compliant technical documentation in English, tailored to the relevant target groups (e.g., operating, user, assembly, repair, and maintenance instructions, software manuals, and system documentation)

  • Structured creation, maintenance, and further development of modular content in the XML-based content management system Quanos Schema ST4

  • Development and continuous improvement of information architectures and product documentation structures

  • Development of new information and documentation concepts for robotics products and related software content

  • Continuous further development of documentation concepts and processes to make product documentation future-proof, especially with regard to upcoming requirements such as digital product passports, the Cyber Resilience Act, and other regulatory or digitalization topics

  • Development, maintenance, and consistent application of terminology to ensure clear, harmonized, and translation-friendly technical communication

  • Use of AI-supported tools to enhance documentation creation, review, consistency checks, terminology management, and continuous content optimization

  • Creation of translation-friendly content and support of translation and localization processes

  • Support of risk assessments in accordance with applicable standards and regulations

  • Close collaboration with interdisciplinary, cross-site teams throughout the product development process

  • Use of modern collaboration and knowledge-management tools: Confluence, Jira, Teams, SharePoint

Your profile:

  • Training as a Technical Writer or a comparable qualification; alternatively, a technical degree or graduation from a technical college, preferably with a focus on technical communication or technical documentation

  • At least three years of professional experience in creating technical documentation or comparable practical experience in technical communication

  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to present complex technical information clearly, accurately, and in a target-group-oriented manner

  • Very good command of English (main documentation language); good German skills desirable

  • Experience with content management systems, preferably Quanos Schema ST4, as well as XML-based and modular documentation

  • Confident use of MS Office and modern collaboration tools (Confluence, Jira, Teams, SharePoint)

  • Experience in creating translation-friendly content and applying consistent terminology

  • Experience with or strong interest in using AI-supported tools for technical writing, content review, terminology consistency, and documentation process improvement

  • Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations, such as the Machinery Directive, the upcoming Machinery Regulation, ISO standards, and VDI guidelines

  • Interest in future-proof documentation topics, such as digital product passports, cybersecurity-related documentation requirements, regulatory change management, and digital information delivery

  • Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style with strong communication skills

  • Customer- and service-oriented mindset with a professional and confident demeanor

  • Experience in robotics or related mechatronics, automation, or machinery environments is desirable
