Software Test engineer - Neuraverse (human)
About this role
Your mission & challenges
Together, we are taking the step into a new era of intelligent robotics:
Develop and implement detailed Gherkin test cases and corresponding step definitions using Cucumber, Playwright and TypeScript for both GUI and API testing.
Develop and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines to support automated test execution across different stages.
Execute automated and manual tests, analyze outcomes to detect defects or performance bottlenecks.
Test and validate node-graph based application logic and workflows, ensuring correctness of visual programming behavior.
Support testing and validation of digital twin simulations, ensuring consistency between simulated and real robot/system behavior.
Contribute to testing of robot arm related functionalities, including motion, manipulation, and system integration.
Log, track, and communicate issues discovered during testing, working closely with engineering teams to drive timely resolution.
Create and maintain clear test documentation and user guides, while continuously enhancing the test framework to boost efficiency and coverage.
Work collaboratively with system engineers to ensure effective testing of software components and contribute to overall product stability.
Proactively identify opportunities to refine testing practices and introduce improvements to streamline test development and execution.
Cross-functional collaboration
Partner with software developers, robotics engineers, AI researchers, and product teams throughout the development cycle.
Help ensure that new features are released with high quality, reliability, and safety standards.
Contribute to the overall stability and performance of the platform by providing structured feedback and validation insights.
Support a culture of quality by championing testing best practices and continuous improvement.
What we can look forward to
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field but strong background in robotics
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in test automation, system testing, validation, or verification of complex systems, preferably in the robotics industry
Proficiency in programming languages such as TypeScript and Python
Basic understanding of robot arms – kinematics, motion planning, and manipulation concepts
Familiarity with node-graph based development environments and digital twin concepts is a plus
Fluency in English is required
Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as Playwright, Jmeter and Cucumber for BDD, along with proficiency in version control using Git
Company at a glance
NEURA Robotics is a German high-tech company founded in 2019 in Metzingen near Stuttgart with the goal to revolutionize the world of robotics. Our mission is to expand the skill set of robots with cognitive capabilities so that they can work with humans in existing environments without having to invest in complex and costly safety systems. We aim to help make numerous fields of work more attractive, safer, and more social. Our guiding principle “we serve humanity” sums up this mission.
Today, more than 1500 team members from over 45 countries are working on advanced technology in the fields of environmental perception, drive and control technology, materials science, mechanical design, and AI.
By developing all key components such as AI, control software, sensor technology, and mechanical components in-house, the development team has made groundbreaking progress in a variety of areas.
With products such as MAiRA, the world’s first cognitive robot, or MiPA, a household and service robot, humanity awaits a new era of robotics. NEURA Robotics is currently working on launching 4NE1 (“For Anyone”), the first humanoid robot ready for series production.
With the Neuraverse, a comprehensive ecosystem for innovations in the field of cognitive robotics, NEURA Robotics is creating an important technical basis for automation solutions and enabling the networking of robots and partner companies on a global scale.
