Smart Factory Expert (Human)

Riederich · On-site

About this role

Your mission & challenges

● You will drive the build-up of our Robotics Control & System Integration area for the Smart Factory and scale our robotic arms, including around 4NE-1.

● You will integrate robotic systems across mechanics, electronics, and software, and commission them on Linux/Debian.

● You will carry out measurement engineering and data analysis using Python or MATLAB, and connect equipment, IoT devices, and measurement systems (OPC UA, MQTT, REST).

● You will create interfaces to MES/production systems and databases (SQL), together with the Production IT team.

● You will build CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker/Podman) and take on requirements engineering in coordination with production and stakeholders.

● In your first 90 days, you'll take over an integration topic, connect a measurement station to the MES system, run a measurement campaign to analyze a robotic arm's performance, and build a CI/CD pipeline.

What we can look forward to

● A completed Master's degree in mechatronics, computer science, robotics, automation, or control engineering.

● Experience in the system integration of robotic systems (mechanics, electronics, software, Linux/Debian) as well as in measurement engineering and data analysis with Python or MATLAB.

● Experience connecting equipment, IoT devices, and measurement systems (e.g. OPC UA, MQTT, REST) and with interfaces to MES/production systems and databases (SQL).

● Knowledge of CI/CD and software deployment (e.g. GitLab CI, Jenkins, Docker/Podman) as well as requirements engineering.

● Business-fluent German and English, spoken and written (C1).

● A plus: professional experience with robotic/automation systems, control and drive engineering, basic embedded knowledge (C/C++, EtherCAT), experience with MES/ERP systems, and knowledge of IT/OT security and common safety standards (ISO 10218, IEC 61508).

Company at a glance

NEURA Robotics is a German high-tech company founded in 2019 in Metzingen near Stuttgart with the goal to revolutionize the world of robotics. Our mission is to expand the skill set of robots with cognitive capabilities so that they can work with humans in existing environments without having to invest in complex and costly safety systems. We aim to help make numerous fields of work more attractive, safer, and more social. Our guiding principle “we serve humanity” sums up this mission.

Today, more than 1500 team members from over 45 countries are working on advanced technology in the fields of environmental perception, drive and control technology, materials science, mechanical design, and AI.

By developing all key components such as AI, control software, sensor technology, and mechanical components in-house, the development team has made groundbreaking progress in a variety of areas.

With products such as MAiRA, the world’s first cognitive robot, or MiPA, a household and service robot, humanity awaits a new era of robotics. NEURA Robotics is currently working on launching 4NE1 (“For Anyone”), the first humanoid robot ready for series production.

With the Neuraverse, a comprehensive ecosystem for innovations in the field of cognitive robotics, NEURA Robotics is creating an important technical basis for automation solutions and enabling the networking of robots and partner companies on a global scale.
