About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY:

The Assistant Coach position supports the varsity athletics program at Northeastern University, reporting to the Head Coach. This role is responsible for assisting with practice and game-day decisions, player skill development, and administrative duties as assigned. The Assistant Coach plays a key role in identifying, evaluating, and cultivating prospective student-athletes from across the country while upholding all Conference and NCAA regulations. This position requires availability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist the Head Coach with practice and game-day decisions, developing training drills for player skill development and leading positional portions of practice

  • Scout opponents and provide analysis to support competitive preparation

  • Identify, evaluate, and cultivate prospective student-athletes from throughout the country in accordance with Conference and NCAA regulations

  • Attend departmental meetings, programs, and clinics

  • Assist with fund-raising efforts as needed

  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of coaching experience required, preferably at a Division I program

  • Collegiate playing experience preferred

  • Thorough knowledge of recruiting practices and understanding of Conference and NCAA regulations

  • Previous experience with budgeting procedures and strong communication and management skills required

  • Must be available to travel and work evenings and weekends as required

Expected Hiring Range:

$76,335.00 - $107,823.75
