Position Summary
The Production Operator rotates job responsibilities throughout the department. Although technicians work in assigned roles based on the function of workflow defined in the operations, may also be called upon to direct or coordinate the work of other operators.
Responsibilities
Daily Activities
• Responsible for maintaining basic condition of equipment through Cleaning, Inspection, & Lubrication activities.
• Responsible for machine operation, shutdown, changeover, clean-up, and day-to-day troubleshooting to allow for production of safe, quality production. Manage and dispose of department recyclables and garbage. • Requires exercise of ingenuity to solve unusual and difficult problems as employee works to troubleshoot and clear/remedy errors. This position requires critical thinking and quick action to protect sterility of the process and product.
• Employee must be able to turn operation from cleaning to production or production to cleaning. Attention to detail is required. Work requires intermittent to moderate physical exertion as technician change materials and conduct intermittent preventative maintenance and minor repair. May also be required to lift parts or make piping and equipment changes. Work pace is generally above normal with occasional problems keeping up with the workplace.
• Effectively work with interdepartmental personnel to maintain a good flow of safety, quality, and production information throughout the plant.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by management or team leaders.
Continuous Improvement
• All employees will support and participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance Management (TPM) and in the future Lean Initiative activities as a part of their job responsibility within their Business Unit or as assigned within the factory.
Safety, Health, and Environmental
• Employee shall follow Fremont Factory safety & environmental objectives & targets, follow the plant safety rules, report unsafe conditions immediately, report incidents immediately or by the end of the shift, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs.
• All employees will support and participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance • All employees will maintain environmentally conscious production efforts.
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
- Job requires minimal computer or other technical knowledge to be successful.
• Performs transactions and/or records information in a computer.
• High School Diploma or GED required as well as other training.
Experience
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a production or machine operator
Skills
• Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization. • Effective reading, writing, communication, and computer skills.
• Ability to obtain necessary certifications / licenses.
