Position Summary
Quality Assurance and Nestlé Purina Analytical Laboratories department is comprised of talented individuals who possess a genuine love for pets and their families. As an Associate Microbiologist, you will perform and document routine tasks related to sample processing and assays using established laboratory methods and techniques. Applying your knowledge gained from education and previous experience, you’ll modify, calculate, interpret data from tests, ensuring accurate records and ensure efficient operations.
- Receive, register, and prepare samples for general analytical testing through data entry, weighing, and physical homogenization per Nestlé Purina Analytical Laboratories methods
- Operate basic laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meter, spectrophotometer, autoclave, etc.
- Read and record results of analyses, making sure to keep identification numbers matched with correct samples
- Wash glassware, clean equipment, and maintain 5S in all areas of the laboratory
- Assist in establishing and maintaining QA documents, plans, and ICPs to ensure quality results
- Document quality assurance data and report findings to the supervisor
- Maintain laboratory equipment in reliable working order; perform repairs or request assistance
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or a related field
- 1+ years of overall laboratory experience
Other
- Scheduled shift: Sunday through Thursday OR Tuesday through Saturday from 7:00 – 3:30PM
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed is required
- Ability to lift 50+lbs
